Services For Teachers

PBLU

PBLU classes are developed and facilitated by BIE, and focus on project design, management and assessment. After taking these classes, you will be able to improve your own PBL practice and share your knowledge with others. Additional classes will be added throughout the year. We will continue to offer sponsored classes that are free to participants, but they will have limited spaces available. In the future, there could be classes that have a nominal fee.

Example PBLU projects, anchored to Common Core State Standards, are designed by BIE and its partners to allow you to focus mainly on how to implement a project rather than how to design one.

PBL World

PBL World is the pre-eminent Project Based Learning conference the world. It is held every year in mid-June in Napa, California. PBL World provides an ideal opportunity for educators to participate in BIE's classic PBL 101 three-day workshop, advanced practices workshops, or two-day academies focused on leadership, instructional coaching, or teaching and learning in a 1-to-1 environment. Attendees will rub shoulders with world leaders in education as they share best practices during short keynote address, learn tips and tools for tech integration while participating in free Tech Boot Camps, and design standards-based projects with the help of BIE's expert staff.

PBL 101 Workshops

This is BIE’s foundational three-day (consecutive) onsite PBL workshop. It provides attendees with the skills and knowledge needed to design, assess and manage a rigorous, relevant, and standards-based project. The workshop, facilitated by one of BIE's expert National Faculty, is a balanced blend of direct instruction, video analysis, hands-on work, resource sharing, and peer collaboration and feedback.

Note: BIE does not offer stand alone (open registration) workshops in the U.S. or abroad. The easiest way for an individual teacher to experience a PBL 101 workshop is to attend PBL World.
